Behavior of Concrete-Filled U-Shaped Steel Beam to CFSST Column Connections

Two new types of connection between concrete-filled U-shaped steel (CFUS) beams and square tube (CFSST) columns were presented in this study, including rebar-sleeve with internal diaphragm rebar-through connection. Based on the experiments rebar-plate connections CFUS CFSST under cyclic loading, nonlinear finite element models tested specimens developed validated by comparing them experimental results. The numerical results agreement terms failure modes, stress distribution, load-displacement skeleton curves. FEA results, mechanical behavior two comprehensively discussed compared. Furthermore, parametric study was conducted for to investigate effect specific parameters capacity included: thickness steel, ratio longitudinal reinforcement concrete slab, strength beam, diaphragm. indicate that (tb), slab (?), have significant effects loading connection—the increases about 20% when tb from 6 mm 8 mm, 45% ? 1.5% 4.8% negative P, yield (fy) 235 Mpa 420 Mpa.
